Scrapped for cash

Under the scrappage scheme, I want to replace my 1995 Polo. I had decided between a FIAT 500 and a Hyundai i10 but now I read that uknewcars.com are offering a Fiat Panda 100 HP at £7,763 against a list price £10,400. I drive mainly in the city but do some motorway driving. Which of these cars would you go for?

The FIAT Panda 100HP doesn’t really work. Too much power for the
suspension. Ford fixed it for the new Ka, and FIAT has too in the Abarth 500 and 500C. (The suspension improvements are coming to the 500 for 2010 model year.) I’ve run a 500 1.2 Lounge for 14 months with no trouble (except for the choppy ride), and an excellent 50.8mpg. But a Hyundai i10 1.2 has a newer engine and handles better. It just doesn’t look anything like as good as a FIAT 500
