Can you please give me your advice on buying new the Hyundai i20 and the KIA Cee’d. Which is the better build? I am torn between the two and also which supermini is your favoured car for build, mpg and longevity.

The Hyundai i30 and KIA Cee'd are built in separate but virtually mirrored factories 50km from each other in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia. Nothing to choose between them in build quality, though the Hyundai factory is about 18 months newer. The supermini sized i20 is built in India, but is an excellent, though smaller car, with perhaps the most advanced 1.2 engine in the world and extraordinary economy. Any i20s ordered now will be 2010 spec with ESP and about £250 dearer.
