Channel vision

I have just been watching the Gadget Show on Channel 5 testing In Car Entertainment systems. All three of the ones tested, mounted in the dash, so that the driver could see it and had touch screens. But what amazed me was that they all played DVD movies as well. Surely this is illegal, having a video screen in the clear view of the driver, playing a movie. If it isn't illegal, it should be.

It would be illegal in the UK to play a movie visible by the driver while
driving. But my wife fitted a TV to the dash of her car in Thailand. It
doesn't work any more but when it did I found it didn't distract me at all from my driving. Your eyes have to be everywhere when driving in Thailand.
