Unbrakable

I had new discs and pads fitted to the front of my 3 year old Subaru Forester at 20k miles in December 2008. Despite taking the car back they are still poor. They don't have that instant response they had and you have to push firmly to get a response about half way down. Swapping to our Micra we are constantly nearly going through the windscreen. Garage says Subaru replacement pads are never as good as original factory ones and the car is 'safe'. Don't feel safe at speed. Used to need a 'dab' now need to think ahead more and really push. Spoiled our lovely car. Any ideas please?

They might bed in. But they might also be the wrong combination of pads and discs. Both are now wearing items and if they are not compatible then you will have problems.
