Manual Labour pains

I am looking to replace my ageing A4 Avant (1999, 180,000 miles) and have been very tempted by the new V6 S4 Avant (well, putting the cash into a pension seems foolhardy by comparison). Naturally the issue of the new VED bands is of importance and I was pleasantly surprised buy the 225 g/km figure quoted by Audi in the brochure, as it neatly fits in just below the current top band. I decide to check this figure on www.vcacarfueldata.org.uk, and found that the figure quoted there is 229 g/km, which significantly increases the VED payable. My question is which is correct, and why is there a discrepancy?

That was easier than at first I thought it would be. The manual is 229g/km and £405 tax. The S-Tronic is 224g/km and £215 tax.
