Tall order

I am considering buying a new car as my aged mother is finding my aged Corsa increasingly difficult to get into and out of. Are you able to suggest some suitable vehicles at which we could look? I "shan't be allowed" to buy a Japanese car. I would ideally like a good-looking car, not a "van" but I think that the time has come to buy something rather bigger than the Corsa. As an ancillary question, my mother seems to think that, at some stage in her youth, a car was made where the passenger seat could swivel sideways so that one could sit down and then be "whizzed" back to face forwards. Is something like this available these days?

Early Galaxys had this feature, but the seats used to catch half way. Her best non-Japanese bets are: Suzuki Splash (built in Hungary), New Vauxhall Agila (built in Hungary), Toyota Yaris (built in France), Nissan Note (built near Sunderland), Renault Modus (built in France and Spain). Gowrings Mobility does swivel and articulated seats, but she won't need one with a Suzuki Splash, as I demonstrate on Video at: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road_tests/index.htm?id=368

Surprisingly spacious small five-door city car. Makes best sense with 1.0 petrol engine. Much better than old Agila. Rebadged version of Suzuki Splash.
