Raised expectation
My wife and I are looking for a 4WD style family car in a diesel powered 2WD format. Having seen the Nissan Qashqai + 2, which I particularly like due to the sizeable boot, are there any other cars which we should consider that tick all the boxes above? Having been a VW Golf driver for many years, I am also keen to buy a marque that has a good track record for reliability and inexpensive servicing / running costs. I recognise that the initial purchase cost of this vehicle may be highish.

Ford Kuga, Volvo XC60, Hyundai Tucson, KIA Sportage and Nissan X-Trail are all also available as diesel 2WDs. Slovakian built KIA Sportage 2WD diesel automatics were recently on offer at £12,995, with a 7-year warranty.
