Warrant point

I have a Golf which will be 3 years old at the end of December and am thinking of taking out a one year warranty with Warranty Direct, which I have seen advertised in the Telegraph. What are your views on this product? I have motored for 50 years and never bothered with extended warranties before, do you think I should start now?

It's the best aftermarket warranty provider. But you must buy the warranty before the original one expires so they run consecutively with no gap, to avoid losing partial cover for the first 90 days. Nothing sinister or underhand about that. It’s to prevent the fraud of people taking out warranties to fix problems that already exist.
