I am a 74-year old woman, owner of a 1998 Vauxhall Corsa manual 1.4 bought new, which has done about 40,000 miles of trouble-free motoring. I foresee the time when I will need to replace it, and would like an automatic 5-door hatchback. What should I buy? New or used? And which car? My driving, as you can see from the low mileage, is limited to short local trips, with the occasional 200 mile round trip. My first priority is reliability followed closely by cost. Any suggestions?

You can't beat a Hyundai i10 1.2 Comfort auto, with 5-year warranty,
assuming you can actually get one as they are in fairly short supply.
