A lifetime friend has just died, leaving a 2004 Brotherwood converted Mercedes Vaneo 1.9 automatic petrol with 35,000 miles. The conversion comprises lowered floor, slide sideways rear seats, a drop down manual ramp to allow rear access for a powered wheelchair and all the necessary safety anchorages and belts. Total cost new (VAT not chargeable) was £27,000. We propose approaching Brotherwoods to see if they have a second hand modified car business and to ask whether they are interested in making an offer. Failing this, are there any organisations that can offer a guaranteed sale, perhaps by specialist auction?

Brotherwoods does have a used section, but if they do not make you a sensible offer, a specialist website to advertise it on is: www.justmobility.com . Other readers have had success that way.
