De-feeted

Recently, due to an accident I lost, temporarily I hope, the use of my legs. My daughter in law is taking driving lessons and is at the point where she would benefit from me accompanying her whilst she practices in my car. Is this permitted when I am unable to drive myself?

No, because you would not be able to control the car in an emergency.
