Protection wrack it
I was very interested in your comments regarding Protected No Claims Discounts. I am in the process of renewing my insurance and my premium has increased by £90, due I assume mainly to my wife, a named driver, having an accident in December, I am somewhat bemused as to why I am paying for PNCD. I had 9 years PNCD to my credit.

‘Protected’ No Claims Discounts have now become such a misnomer they should be done away with altogether and replaced with more generous NCDs. It’s tantamount to fraud to sell a policyholder the ‘benefit’ of a ‘protected no claims discount’, yet still bump up his premium because of a claim, even a ‘no fault’ claim.
