I am fed up with not being able to go out in my car when it snows. Living in a country area and 250 yards from a made up road (and being in my 70s) this winter has been difficult. I have therefore decided to exchange my 2-year-old Audi A4 for a 4-wheel drive vehicle. I feel that a 2-litre quality vehicle able to accommodate several sets of golf clubs would be ideal. A petrol engine would be preferred The Audi Q5 or the Honda CR-V would seem sensible. Which would you advise and have you any other suggestions. Your help would be appreciated.

Better to invest in a separate set of wheels with soft compound winter
tyres and fit them to your car from November to March. They are far more effective in snow than four-wheel drive. But if you want to go the 4WD route and prefer petrol, why note something like an Audi A4 2.0TSI quattro? That's a very nice combination. Still better with winter tyres in winter, though.
