How long is it before diesel cars are banned from towns and cities? I am 75 and need an automatic estate for my next car.

Bristol is currently in the process of trying to ban diesel vehicles, but its proposals go against Government guidelines and fail to differentiate between older, polluting vehicles and the latest Euro 6 compliant diesels. If you buy one of the latest, Euro 6 diesels, you'll be able to drive in towns and cities for a while yet. That said, diesels make the most sense if you cover high motorway miles. If most of your journeys are around town, I'd recommend a petrol or hybrid.
