Braking, the news
My Golf was nearly 5 years old when it suffered the well-known G201/MK60 Teves ABS/ESP fault. Basically I have been told that VW is offering 100% goodwill for Touran owners who have had their cars exclusively VW serviced, but not for Golf owners. This comes after your intervention on behalf of a Touran owner. In the cases of Golf owners, however, a case-by-case tiered approach to meeting the cost has been taken, based on vehicle age and mileage. My wife has sworn that she will not replace her Golf with another. The jury is still out in my case.

Many thanks. My contact did clear it with his boss first. I spoke to him again about it more recently and it seems that though policy is to pay 100% parts cost and 50% labour when the car has a full VW service history, things get tangled up when that history has been with more than one VW dealer. Once the trade cottons on to this, values of anything with Teves Mk 60 ABS are going to drop by £1,500.
