Protection racket
I am taking delivery of a new car at the end of December and I am considering having the Supagard Plus treatment by the supplying dealer. Would you please advise if you think the treatment is beneficial and, if so, how much would be a reasonable charge. I am being offered £349 (reduced from £400) for treating a BMW520 Saloon, which strikes me as way over the top

It’s of some benefit to the car’s paintwork but of more benefit to the salesman’s commission than it will be to you. The best treatment is professionally applied by Glare UK. Lasts 5 years. Costs around £500. That passed Tim Shaw's 5th Gear torture test. More at www.glareuk.com
