I am looking to replace a 1996 Ford Escort Cabriolet 16v Ghia, with a FIAT 500C. I had terrific service out of my Ford, but after 13 years living in the open air (no garage), the roof started to leak because the rubber seals went, etc. (and only 40,000 on the clock). All advice is not to buy another convertible if I have no garage, but, being an ageing beach bunny, I hanker after the Fiat 500C. Although it is early days, do you know if they are generally regarded as watertight?

No adverse reports so far. It's certainly a way to get decent suspension and steering in a FIAT 500. See test and video:
