Toya will coax
I aim to trade in a Toyota Yaris GLS Automatic 3 door hatchback 1,299cc petrol, metallic blue, 150g/km CO2, registered 27-09-02, mileage, 21,000 (1 long drive per week plus 1 - 2 short drives). Good condition, registered in my wife's name as she is the driver. I aim to buy a new Toyota IQ, 3 door hatchback, Multidrive transmission: 1.0VVT-i, with metallic paint. On the road list price £10,615 plus metallic paint at £400. I would appreciate your advice as to the value of the Yaris on a trade-in and what price I should seek on the entire deal.

The car you have is one of the most prized gems in the used car trade. They are like hen's teeth coated in gold dust. Trade price at 67k miles is £3,075, which, mileage adjusted, rises to £3,700. That's already a lot of money for a 7-year old small car but I think you can squeeze a bit more: maybe £4,000 making the cost to switch £7,000. You might be able to push the dealer for more still.
