Anyone hoping to buy a new FIAT 500 is going to be in for a long wait. I ordered mine on 3rd August 2009 and at my last enquiry re delivery I was told late January or February if I'm lucky. Come on FIAT. It's not good enough.

Well, FIAT does have a very large order from the British School of Motoring to fulfil from its UK allocation of cars. Numerous readers had their October deliveries put back to December. The temporary advantage for existing owners of 500s in the right colour and specification has been rock hard second-hand values (I could have sold mine at 18 months old for £9,000). The latest 500 is the exclusive 500 Pink at £11,700, which you can only order from www.fiat.co.uk/500pink .
