I'd be grateful for your advice and guidance regarding a brake issue I have with my VW Golf Mk6 GT TDI 140PS which I bought in March this year. The brakes tend to stick after parking on my drive overnight and they seem very harsh and tend to grab while driving, making it difficult to stop smoothly. I've taken it back to my local VW dealer, who after a thorough examination tell me it's probably down to my low mileage (7k per yr). I accept that my journeys are mainly local with the occasional long motorway drive, but is 7k per year really low enough to result in this problem? I had no such issue with my previous car, a Lexus IS200 and my pattern of driving has not changed.

Honest John
Reads like the rear brake parking pads are binding to the discs. Same thing happened to me in November in an Auto R8 V10 that had been left out overnight after being jetwashed. The metallic particles in the brake pads corrode onto the brake discs. This happened with some of the other cars we tested too. (It would have been very embarrassing to stall the R8 V10 in front of the inevitable onlookers.)
