Winter Tyres - no insurance

Unbelievably,my insurance company told me that I would not be insured if I changed my normal tyres (rated 91W) for winter tyres (rated 91H). H rating is, I believe, up to 130mph so improving my roadholding but dropping down to 130mph rated tyres is unacceptable!! This seems ludicrous, have you heard of this before?

I now continue to drive at increased risk of skidding until the spring arrives!
