Electric gates damaged my but the owners of the house won't return my calls - what can I do?
After viewing a house for sale via an estate agents (but shown around by the vendor) the electric gates of the property closed on my car. The vendor agreed by text to reimburse me after showing him a quote. In fact I obtained two quotes - £300 and £1500. For the vendor's benefit I chose the lower quote and emailed it over to him with email address given to me by himself. I’ve since not heard from him through email or text. What should be my next step? Small claims court? And what is the procedure if so?

Have the vehicle inspected by an independent engineer and quantify the loss. Raise a claim in the small claims court for this amount. You can do it here www.gov.uk/make-money-claim
