Turbo failed 10 days after EGR valve replacement - could the two be connected?
My car was recently recalled to the dealer for EGR valve replacement. Ten days later the turbo failed, could there be a connection?

Replacing the EGR cannot have affected the turbo. But the turbo might have been on the way out anyway. They usually fail because the turbo oil feed and/or oil return pipes get blocked with carbon from switching off the engine when it is too hot instead of idling for a minute or two. Never replace a turbo without also replacing the turbo oil feed and oil return pipes.
