Garage recommendation

As a keen and weekly reader of your column in the Telegraph I thought I might ask you to congratulate Mike Turner of www.newcitroendeals.co.uk. My wife took a fancy to a DS3 1.6 150 THP D Sport and we duly visited a dealer to test drive and potentially purchase the car. As one who likes 'to do a deal' and once we'd identified a spec. I went in for the kill on a potential cash buy. This cut no ice with the dealer, who, though pleasant, wasn't interested in budging from list price. I had already had a quote on a standard DS3 from new citroen deals so on the way back home my Wife rang them. Mike quoted a price nearly £1000 cheaper than the dealer we'd just visited !! My wife agreed to email confirmation on condition that the car would be ready within 5 weeks. This was quite important as she would be without a car by then. This was agreed. Next morning,Saturday, the nominated mainstream dealer that Mike had passed the order to called and took a deposit. Later on that day, the salesman from the previous day telephoned and offered a number of pre-registered 'special offers' but none were brand new and many had extras that my wife neither wanted nor needed even though the salesman suggested they were in effect 'free'. We stood our ground but were slightly concerned that when we told him we had found the exact car she wanted at a substantial discount through an online broker the salesman 'poo pooed' the delivery time saying that it would be at least three months before we saw the car. We emailed both Mike Turner and the designated dealership to query the delivery time and received both email and phone call from the Sales Manager responsible for these 'special orders' who completely allayed our fears and promised early November delivery. He also promised he would be in touch every step of the way ie from when the build had started to when the chassis number was received by him and tax and temporary insurance arranged. He kept to his word and the car was delivered to the house on a trailer with 4 PDI miles on the clock and at 07:30 in the morning so my Wife could take it to work. That's what I call service !! I know you're a fan of these smart little cars and now, so are we. Of particular note is the wonderful soft 'Mistral Claudia' leather which combined with the rest of the interior looks very classy indeed. I hope you may be able to publish this as a note of thanks to Mike at new citroen deals and I'm sure he'll pass it on to his dealer. With regards to your site and page, keep up the good work. I don't make a move with regards to choosing cars for me,my wife and my 2 kids without consulting your pages first.Well done. KH, Northants
