What low-insurance group car do you suggest for a new driver?

It's my first time buying a car. I will be driving a minimum 50 miles Monday to Friday, plus weekend use. What makes and models would you suggest? I need a reliable economic car. I'm open to buying used or new, but would prefer to keep costs as low as possible because insurance will be a nightmare due to me being a new driver.

Take a look at our guide to the cheapest cars to insure (www.honestjohn.co.uk/insurance/top-25-lowest-insur.../). Consider a new Suzuki Swift - they're very economical and easy to drive.
