A surprising economical package

Have owned this car for a month and have completed some 1300 miles, so far brilliant. Changed from a Toyota Landcruiser to this so as you can imagine a HUGE difference! Driving position/comfort and space is brilliant, the dash well laid out, and the extras, ie ipod connection, heated seats, cruise etc make for a comfortable trip. I'm 6'2 and have suffered spinal ops so comfort was a must. The seats are very comfortabe and supportive, and ease of exit and entry is good. Rear seats are good but lack of head room for tall people could be a problem.
Economy is brilliant, figures suggest 61mpg, i normally get 53 to 58 mpg without really trying too hard, and i'm still learning/playing with the car. These figures are a combination of town, country and 'A' road driving. I'm sure that it would be possible to achieve the official figures on a good run. I run it in the econ mode 99% of the time and is just a pleasure to drive, if you pop it into s mode the revs increase and its a little more responsive but can be a little loud on hard acceleration, thats not what i purchased the car for though.
I'm sure this is the way forward, have only just started looking at the hybrids, and had previously dimissed them as 'gutless gimmicks', how wrong i was. Its now a pleasure to go to the garage for petrol now, my bills have more than halved, tax £15 a year and the reliability of Honda, really is a no brainer! Watch this space, when people such as me actually take the time to get behind the wheels of these cars they'll wonder why they've been wasting so much money on fuel and tax for so long!
