Inventor threatened with jail over inflatable speed camera

An inventor was warned with jail time by the police, over a blow-up speed camera. The 'Fakeso' inflatable was created by former Big Brother producer Shed Simove, in a bid to slow down motorists near his home. He hoped to make his fortune from the idea, charging £30 per inflatable.

The police burst the money making dream, however, with a warning that owners could be in contravention of section 22A of the Road Traffic Act 1988 (causing danger to other road users) if a bogus camera caused a crash - and this carries a maximum prison sentence of seven years. Simove told newspapers: “I'm gutted. I really thought I'd created a product that could help everyone by reducing speeding on Britain's roads.”
