I have recently purchased 2007 XC90 se 185 Geartonic, I am no stranger to volvo's, some time ago I
sold a 2004 v70 diesel 28000mls fully seviced. I bought this model to tow a large caravan, its feels safe whilst towing and stability is good. Overall solo dring about 27/28 mls to gallon , towing it drops to about
23/24mls to gallon . Performance, is more than adequate, it will pull well with 4 adults and two kids on
board.Volvo's are reliable provided they are not neglected., from experience I suggest change oil and filter every 6000mls. If you want your car to last Synthetic oil is a must, its more exspensive but it protects the engine.The service manual recommends a main service every 18000mls.These engines are capable of
300000mls. One final point of note if you can find an ex Volvo mechanic who is now independant,Otherwise the mail dealer can be expensive.
