Overall reliability

Bomb proof, spacious and versatile.

If you need a utility 4x4 with yonks of room and as reliable and versatile as can be, then this is a car to consider. My 11 year old R-Design is a bit of a tank but scrubs up well and does whatever I want it to, from taking from 4 -7 out for a trip and/or the same number of dumpy bags to the tip (with the seats down, of course).

Don’t try three point turns - more like 5 x the worst car I’ve had for that, it’s turning circle is not good and the steering is heavy, but they are my only criticisms. Having own 9 Volvos over the years this probably ranks as the best. Get a decent pre- owned instead of the latest model and you won’t be disappointed. Mine has done a mere 72000 and still drives like a two year old!

Oh, and a average mpg .. I’d say around 30 ,
