Relaxed comfort and effortless drive in Scandi ambience.

Purchased this car from Volvo dealer with 8,000 miles on the clock with a view to keeping it for 6 years plus. Less dynamic than my old Ford Kuga and the very light steering took a bit of getting used to, but beautifully screwed together and a really cosseting relaxed drive. Seats are brilliant and you get out after a long trip feeling fresh and no back aches that I used to get with the Ford.
No you can’t lean it round corners like the Kuga but you actually don’t want to in the XC60. It’s all about smooth relaxing progress and the beautiful interior design is a great de stressing place to be. Performance is not punch in the back but very linear and effective and the XC60 eats up the miles with panache. Economy so far shows 34 mpg on short urban journeys and 42 mpg on a run. Portrait screen runs most of the functions and you need to get your head round some of the menus but very well thought out once you get used to it. Voice command works well for heating and climate and many other functions which helps you keep your eyes on the road. Ride is excellent on most road surfaces but stick with 19” or 18” wheels unless you get one with air suspension. In my opinion a handsome, well designed mid sized SUV without the the brash looks of the German rivals and a statement of Scandi style and individuality. Early days but no faults, rattle free and no regrets, this is a fine car.
