Vauxhall Mokka (2021 on)

Bumpy Bumpy Crash Bang Bumpy Bumpy but still a great car.
I bought this car brand new after having test driven one, I was so exited waiting for it to arrive as it was such a new model that you never really saw them on the roads and there was a 16 week waiting time from placing your order but it arrived in just 9 weeks. I was over the moon but unfortunately that was short lived, my test drive was on very good roads near the dealer so the car drove great. However after owning it for 2/1/2 years I've had enough of the bumpy ride to the point I really can't wait to get rid of it which is such a shame as this otherwise is a very good car. Withing a few days of having it I was shocked how bad it was over bumps and pot holes - it really shakes you left and right and the bumps are so harsh and anyone that is in the car with me grumbles about the ride quality and that spoils what would otherwise be a great car. Also the stop start is terrible, you pull up to junctions and roundabouts and not quite stopped and think you have time to get out so you put your foot back on the accelerator only to find the engine has stopped and by the time it starts your half out of the roundabout or junction and you either have to put your foot down to get out the way of traffic or stop and partially block the road. Needless to say I switch if off most times but there is always a time when you forget and it catches you out when you least expect it. The car is not as easy as you might think to get in and out as the seats are quite a way inwards from the outer sills so climbing in is quite difficult compared to say the Crossland. So that's the bad bits now for the good. The car is quite powerful considering it's only a 1.2 engine in a big car, very quick of the mark and pulls very well when your stuck behind a slow driver and need to overtake (I do like it for this). The active cruise control is brilliant, the seats are very comfortable and supportive, the sat nav is great with live speed camera detection and traffic jam detection so it can take you a faster route avoiding the jams. The steering is very good for a tall car and copes very well through the bends and the longer you have it the more faith you have to know how far you can push it. The brakes are very good. I'm now a very big fan of the blind spot monitoring. Now I've saved this till last as I think this is quite important. I've drove automatics for about 30 years now and this car has a brilliant auto box. The gears are very smooth and you don't feel a thing as it changes up or down and this also works fantastically with the active cruise control as when the cars in front of you stop, it stops and drives off all by itself when the traffic moves off and sort of feels like your in a self driving car. Overall the car looks great and is good to drive on good roads and feels of very good quality build but just a shame about the bumps. Also something ells I would like to say is when it went in for a service I was given a brand new 23 reg new shape astra as a curtesy car it was not that great to drive and does not feel any way as good a quality as the Mokka and when I did get back in the Mokka back It was quite a relief and I felt that its not a bad car after all. If you can cope with the bumpy ride then you will like this car, if you want comfort do some research and buy something else.
