The curse of Ecotec strikes again.

Quick buy to replace vehicle that had died, transport to work so reliability essential. Vehicle easy to drive provided you were aware of it's tendency to wallow into curves and the rear end having the occasional want to fishtail at any speed. Ride quality good, very smooth, a comfortable pleasure. Reasonably loaded with bits, loved the self dipping rear mirror and rain sensing wash wipes.

Sent for sc*** Feb 2015 when car died on drive when starting up. Tracing a noticeable oil leak around the cam cover found the dephaser pulley on the inlet manifold had disintegrated, wrecking the engine in the process. Found out after the event this is a known issue with the XER Ecotec engine so not a lot I could do about it after the event. Sadly another car manufacturer I will be avoiding in future.
