A absolute diamond of a car !

This was a big purchase for me, My previous car was a Mazda6 2.2 skytec estate ... ( what a massive mistake that was). I popped by a toyota dealer to just have a look at a Carola estate only to realise it was far to small. I had been doing research on cars including the Rav4 hybrid, from 15 years of diesel cars i wasnt sure a hybrid could hit the fuel economy of a diesel but after working out cost per litre and MPG even at 47mpg ( advertised MPG of the rav4 hybrid) it seemed to be work out quiet well, took a lovely 2020 rav4 out for a spin and it was fantastic and the purchase was made,
I Had lots of issues with Steven Eagell dealer( ripped me off with part ex massively sold me the car with front tyres with splits in refused to do anything about it ) and there customer service is disgusting ( please stay clear) all that was back in 2022, since the purchase i have done 90,000 miles all over the UK ( i tour for a living) the car itself is up to 106,000 and the 100k warranty has now expired ( there is a 150k warranty on the battery/hybrid) so i can really give a honest review of the car... there has been 0 issues....
i'm still on the original brake pads 8mm on the front 3 on rear ( rears are being changed ) just shows how good the regen system is with plentiful engine/motor braking at cruising speed on motorways and around town its pretty silent with a little noise from the tyres on c***py UK tarmac. I use the car to shift my gear around the the country and the boot size is vast with the boot full and passengers in the rear is still pulls like a train that boost of electric power is brilliant. in EV mode pottering around a town its lovely, the ECVT ( its not a cvt rubber belt system) is fine for me it does make noise when hard footing it but when you understand its doing it for a reason it really doesn't bother me. These rav4s are even classed as a estate car but by far bigger than any estate car i have owned before.

As for Economy with various types of roads i average 55mpg on a good chilled out drive easily get 70mpg and thats from a 2.5 petrol lump ! a seamless Hybrid system meaning you have to look down to see if your in petrol or ev mode .....

Really like that there are butts a knobs to do things like climate etc instead of all though the screen

for me the infotainment system is fine does what it needs to do and most of the time its on android auto

inside there is plenty of room for people and stuff, i have a design trim with cloth seats and they are very comfortable on 6 hour drives never got out with back ache

Everything inside seems to have been made hard wearing, there are some plastics lower down but thats great as my rav4 is a workhorse and its all easily cleaned

with the weight of the electric and petrol motors under the bonnet i do go though front tyres every 30,000 miles max and thats using high end continental tyres

Toyota are absolute kings of hybrid, and in the rav4 it really does work seamlessly, i have full confidence that i will hit 200k with little to no issues.

i will defiantly purchase another and maybe next time go for the plug-in Hybrid for a little more of the EV power and silence

Now although i had endless poor customer service from Steven Egell dealership in Colchester the dealership i take it to for servicing etc SLM Hastings is fantastic, it is a shame that some dodgy dealerships tarnish the toyota name
