Suzuki SX4 (2006 - 2014)
SZ4 Auto
Very under-rated
We have owned a fair number of cars, covering a number of manufacturers, but never owned a Suzuki.
My wife liked the idea of a slightly higher driving position and also wanted an automatic. Given these restrictions, the choice narrowed down quite a bit. We looked at Nissan Qashqais, Citroens and a whole lot more. We took a test drive in the Suzuki at the Car People in Sheffield.
First impressions were good. They looked to be well put together and drove without squeaks or rattles. Given that it had only 6k miles on the clock - so it should.
We have now owned the car for coming up to a year. The negatives - chunky pillars at the side of the screen.
The positives:-
Feels well made, with decent controls - not flimsy. Very comfortable for four adults - five if they aren't massive. Decent boot size and truly excellent brakes. It holds the road in leech-like fashion and inspires confidence. At motorway speeds, the engine is on fast tick-over. Nothing has needed doing to the car other than a service.
I honestly don't know why they are so cheap. Think Nissan Qashqai, but cheaper and better.
