Basic & cheap run-around car, quite fun to drive

We wanted a small car for local trips, cheap to run and easy to park - to extend the lives of our other family cars (Honda CR-V and Boxster). This was cheap (with a VAT free offer) and we bought new from our local Honda/Suzuki dealer - with whom we were very satisfied.
On a test drive we confirmed that it didn't feel too small and vulnerable. Going along on the A14 overtaking, and being overtaken by lorries, felt fine. The boot is quite small, but by putting down the back seat (or just part) and my golf clubs fit in OK. Although in practice I just put them on the back seat and use the back doors.
It is actually quite fun to drive, with a nice 3 cylinder engine sound, firm ride and is fairly responsive. Although mainly used for shortish journeys, I have used it for longer runs - and it copes fine.
There are a few irritating things: there is no closing glove box; the rearview mirror doesn't dip; the luggage cover is rather crude - you push and hold it up or take it off; there is no light in the boot area. The first of these is probably the worst - I tend to put phone/wallet in the shelf and cover it with a scarf. You could regard these things as charming indications of how basic the car is!
The ride is quite firm - even if the tyres are set to normal pressures (as against the eco sttings). I am quite happy with the ride and handling, but if you are sensitive to firmness suggest you test drive to assess whether it is right for you.
It has proved reliable so far and costs look like they will be very low all round.
So overall I am pretty happy with the car, for our purposes. More importantly both my wife and I never hesitate to use it for shorter journeys, and it is a lot easier to park than the Honda. To me it looks and feels more fun some other very small and slightly more sophisticated models.
I bought (for the first time) parking sensors - it took a while for the dealer to get those working as they are set quite low. I wouldn't bother with these again. This model has split seats, fog lights, air con and stability control - so quite well specced.
