MINI Countryman (2017 - 2024)
2.o Cooper S Premium
I love this car!
I was a little worried trading in my BMW X3 (best car I've ever owned or driven) for its cousin, but I made the right decision.
It's nippy 0-60 in 7.3 sec, it's fabulous at cornering, it's smaller than my X3 so easier to park, get through gaps and on winding country roads. It's comfy too, I like the seats even on long journeys I find them comfy. The only downside is the noise. It's pretty loud in the cabin compared to my 3.0l diesel BMW!
I'm averaging >44.5mpg, so happy with that. Driving in eco mode saves a small amount of fuel.
The indicators don't have that annoying 3 flash nonsense the BMW has, but in general the controls are very similar.
I love the little speedometer and that it moves with the steering wheel, the switches and styling.
I hope it behaves in winter, but certainly had no probs in ridiculously heavy rainfall recently on the motorway and around country roads, so I'm very hopeful things will be good!
I have had a lot if stick moving to a Mini though as a lot of people can't understand why I didn't spend >£60k on a new BMW. I didn't spent it cos it feels inappropriately extravagant when all I'm doing is business miles in it. Ie need a car to get from A to B reliably.
Overall, I'm delighted. My Mini is like a cute BMW without doubling the price . So everytime I drive it, I smile. When I see the car, I smile too! And that is priceless.
