Q30 Sport 2.0t 2WD Premium tech

Premium lowered GLA Mercedes in different clothes with less interior bling and more Japanese tech.

A quick review of a bargain if you have a bit of faith.(only my opninion which applies to the Q30S 2.0t)

I bought this car around end of July 2020 it was 14 months old from a car supermarket with three months purchase warranty and the balance of the UK Nissan three year warranty. I did my research first so I knew what to expect and I wanted the Q30S petrol 2.0t as I like an understated more refined subtle GT type car, not unlike the Volkswagen Arteon. Plus the Q30s 2.0t are quite exclusive, so a bonus in my mind.

Firstly - it's a mix of Mercedes GLA250 chassis (without the SUV suspension) and power train (7 speed DCT) with Nissan Qashqai type interior and electronics such as mirrors, lights, SatNav, cameras and other safety kit. I have the executive non sport seats so very Qashqai.

The cabin is very Asian, meaning it is classy (lexus ) but not blingy (mercedes) and if you are bigger than six foot tall or sixteen stone you may not fit (the average europeans are bigger than the average asian person), even less room in the back, but it is very plush and inclusive without hard plastics as it's all piano black gloss and synthetic leather, just like a 2016+ Qashqai with the 6.5 screen.

Secondly - It really is a premium product with noise reducing interior, having multi-link suspension and full adaptive LED lighting are just three thing into the twenty or so tech options it has. It really is a proper drivers type of car, OK so it does not have Android auto or Apple car play. Really? I don't care look at a fiesta, corsa, juke etc if you want that...

Conclusion?
I wouldn't buy this car new as it is way too expensive as I like the Volkswagen Arteon and in similar spec it is 40k, maybe 37k when purchased including discounts. But when you factor in I paid less than 20k for the Q30S and with a bit of technical tinkering costed in you can have 250PS and 400Nm and GT(i) handling and performance - it really becomes a no brainer. The only downside now is they are hard to find in the UK.
