Overall reliability

Simple, practical, comfortable, dull.

The family vehicle.

In many ways a good car. Comfortable, simple dashboard and controls (by today's standards) apart from the interior light and sunroof controls which still have me baffled.

Adequate space for 5 people though a little cramped in back for long journeys.

Engine is good and pulls well. Autobox good at low speeds but high speed kickdown causes unpleasant flare. It's actually better to turn off the OD instead. Ride is OK, takes out the bumps but rather wallowy. This wallow makes any fast cornering unnerving though it does seem to grip OK.

Cruising at motorway speeds is not bad for a small car. Easy to whiz round town in. Good visibility all round. Not an engaging drive though.

Not great fuel economy, around 33 mpg. I get better from my 1991 Honda Civic.

A technically competent car but I'm always happier to be back in the Civic afterwards.
