Honda Jazz (2020 on)
1.5 i-MMD Hybrid EX
Mostly very good, but some annoying issues
My second Honda, the previous one being a 2006 Civic 1.8, which was brilliant. On the whole I think the Jazz is very good. Impressive economy, 60.36 real mpg since purchase18 months ago, on a mix of urban, country road and motorway driving. Comfortable (I'm 6' tall). Excellent load capacity with the magic seats folded down. I rarely floor the accelerator pedal so don't often experience the heightened engine noise that some reviews mention. Quite relaxing drive on motorway with cruise control and lane keep assist features selected. Heated seats and heated steering wheel features are good.
A few criticisms, albeit not deal-breakers (yet, anyway):
1. The alloy wheels have a plastic aerofoil-type feature which protrude to the extent that if you scuff the kerb the plastic gets scratched rather than the tyre. I scuffed a wheel once but have learned my lesson and park in the middle of the road now (joke).
2. I have set the speed warning to 33mph. An alert sounds at 33mph, then randomly sounds again sometimes at other speeds as the car accelerates e.g. 36mph, 42 mph... Dealer doesn't know why.
3. Loud chime sounds occasionally, shortly after starting off. No indication on dash board. Nothing in manual. Dealer suggests it's a warning about congestion/accident. I don't think so.
4. Intelligent speed limiter is practically useless as it doesn't remember the speed limit for long - if you indicate to change lane for example the car assumes you have turned on to a different road and therefore erases the previously detected speed limit and waits until another speed limit sign is picked up by the camera.
5. The Honda+ app has stopped working and it will not let me sign in. I type my details in but before I hit the button the username and password disappear.
It's easy to list the criticisms because there aren't many and they are mostly to do with computer technology, which will always let you down... Overall the car is practical, comfortable and economical.
