BMW M4 (2014 - 2021)
M4 431 Auto 2dr Coupe
A wolf in sheep's clothing
Dick Lovett in Swindon yet again provided exemplary service and I collected this truly deceptive car in March 2015 - a 1000 mile run to Poland puts this car's abilities in perspective - a boring run of 350 miles in France, Belgium and Holland at a steady 80/90 mph in heavy motorway traffic results in average fuel consumption of 31.5 mpg - 500 miles in Germany at 120/140 mph when traffic and speed restrictions allowed it and up to 160 mph briefly then the fuel consumption drops to 26.5 mpg - acceleration is amazing and once you have sorted out the M1 and M2 settings (I programmed in Efficient and Sport) the car will perform! Quite why drivers whine about it not being a V8 and normally aspirated I cannot understand - it is extremely fast and frugal and makes a subtle yet addictive noise in Sport mode - German drivers on the autobahn did not like a UK plate M4 hammering past them! It is comfortable, holds the road like a leech and has a SatNav system which with RTTI keeps you posted on all traffic conditions - this car needs to be used properly and have the miles put on it so as to really appreciate it - trips to the Golf Club and a wash and polish do not show off the potential and abilities of this lovely car - well done BMW - what a deceptive and highly competent beast! Drive it and enjoy it!!
