BMW 2 Series Coupe (2014 - 2020)
M235i 326 2dr Coupe
A petrolhead delight but I forgot to tick the option box marked "suspension please".
Good looking and well put together(the car,not me!) this is a real road missile, and when I want to have a blast on the welsh moorland roads it comes alive and is satisfying fun.But.....this only represents about 0.1% of my mileage, all the rest is on our poorly maintained A roads in and out of town and here the suspension is simply too harsh and uncomfortable. If you buy one of these you MUST specify the adaptive dampers I tried a BMW330 Touring with the same size wheels and tyres, but with adaptive dampers, and the ride comfort (in comfort setting) was fine.
I am going to buy a set of 17 inch alloys to see if I can improve matters.
Fuel economy is so far better than advertised at 37.2 combined.
There are no squeaks or rattles at all-all the more surprising given the suspension.
Seats are very comfy and adjust for a great driving position and affords a good view all around.
The engine sounds wonderful,( even if some of the sound is apparently synthesised ) and hits a plateau of torque at 1300 rpm so is very flexible.
