This is not a good car! On the plus side, it gets me from a to b and does not sting me too much in tax. I'm not over bothered that no-one bigger that a shortish 10 year old would be comfortable in the back since I use the back seat for my bag and coat, On the minus side, oh where do I start! The gear shift is so stiff - It takes all my strength to get it into reverse. It is horrendous to drive in the ice and snow, or on any irregular road surface. The reversing sensors are set badly so that the manic beeping 'end point' occurs when the car is still 3ft away from the kerb i.e. useless and therefore best ignored. The engine cut out is unnerving at first but you get used to it, except that sometimes it does.... and sometimes it doesn't and there seems to be no logic to this - or indications why in the manual. Acceleration is sluggish compared to an Audi A3. There are a huge number of minor aspects which individually seem too trivial to mention but when added together make the whole '1 series' experience very poor.
