Could have been great

Nice looking car and a great size, not too big for car parks but still big enough for trips to the dump or laden with people and suitcases going to the airport.
The ride is great, comfortable without being a wallowing mess, so handles ok too. However the steering is very light at all speeds and feedback isn’t great, so if in the mood you’ll be trusting the tyres to get you through corners because there is no information coming through the steering wheel. We have the auto box which is our first auto and frankly it’s just ok. Normal changes are smooth but the delay when coming off then on the throttle is alarming, also makes pulling out at busy junctions nerve wracking.
People keep banging on how Audi make great interiors, I’m just not getting it, yes it’s put together nicely but it’s just a sea of black , everywhere. Look at the style and colour palette of an evoque or even a bmw, for a nice place to sit. Which brings me to the seats they are very firm and offer no lateral stability so on a country road you will be rattled between the too wide , so ineffective bolsters also the lumber option is like sitting with someone’s knees in your back.
The gearbox is kept in economy mode getting 36-38mpg averaging over the week, using sport only for overtaking in a hurry as the mpg plummets.
I don’t hate this car, nor do I like it but having read the reviews I expected more, if the seats were comfortable we would keep it as bought from audi we’re going to drop money to get rid.
Has electric boot release which is great, heated seats and that’s about it, it is the worst spec’ed model of car we have had.
