Audi A3 Cabriolet (2008 - 2013)
1.6 TDI 2dr
A great car for sunny days and Sundays
I own a Jaguar Xtype 2.2 estate but wanted a car just to have fun in on nice days. On a limited budget but wanting a car that has 4 seats and some boot space and looks ok top up or down. Now never driving a Convertible before I was pleasantly surprised by how pleasant it was and quiet, in fact better than driving with the hood up. The top retracts and goes back up again very quickly and does not affect the boot space. The boot itself is big enough for luggage for the two of us to go away or to do a weeks shopping. On the test drive the dealer sat in the back so ok for average adults for occasional use. I am 6 foot 4 but do not need the drivers seat fully back. The steering wheel adjustment is superb. Cruise control, stop start system, stereo blue tooth connection very easy to control from the steering wheel. Auto lights, auto rain sensor wipers, CD player and auto rear mirror dimmer all on this basic model. The 1.6 diesel with 5 speed gearbox works nicely but not super sporty and you have to make use of the gears to get the best but I like that. On a 16 mile rural Twisty B road with top down achieved 42 miles to the gallon with top up 45 miles to the gallon. Car turned heads because it looks good. Runs really smooth and feels tight even after 10 years and 105,000 miles on the clock. Really comfy seats and fine driving position. Really chuffed with this car.
