Exhilarating
After having the good fortune of being an owner of a 911 4S for 3 years, I took a gamble on my dream car, the Vantage. What a relief it was when I test drove the Aston, no bobbling front end and the sound track is just addictive. The little touches of chrome and leather are a bonus. I went for the manual rather than the clutchless option. Despite the emissions and economy guilt, this car is a prescription for depression. Being a normally aspirated engine, 4.7 V8, it loves being revved and the gear changes are smooth. Road feed back and handling, even in the wet with Bridgestone tyres is impressive. I use this car as my usual transport even in urban areas and it runs along smmothly without any protest. Get a lot of attention though, which brings smile not just on my face.
The annual service is fixed price at about £650, road tax is £500, but insurance at my age is not an issue. It had it’s annual service recently, and failed to start the next day. This was traced to the Aston Martin Tracker behaving badly, which was changed to a different make by the dealer under warranty. The Stratsone dealer has been very helpful with full valeting post-service.
