My vehicle after 40 mile run battery shows 12.7 but after 2hours goes down to 12.2 this is the second battery tried both new

my vehicle above after a 40 mile run battery shows 12.7 but after 2hours down to12.2 I have pulled all fuses @ checked alternater for cause of discharge without success. the internet shows vehicles in america do this. I have tried two new batteries both the same

You should have about 14.4 volts across the battery with the engine running, check it with a mutimeter.

To peter.n.the voltage is 14.4 with lights @hrs on

If your battery drops from 12.7 to 12.2 volts after standing 2 hours with all the fuses pulled you have a dead battery unless there is a power leakage that pulling the fuses does not affect. Try disconnecting the earth after stopping the car, if the voltage drops the same your battery is definitely knack3red.
