Old Lexus damaged by my falling roof tiles whatnow - notmyname

Hi

Ridge tiles came off my roof last night and landed on the bonnet of my lexusrx300 02 111k miles (below average condition body, due mot, warning light on it might be the cat needs changed)

I was thinking about getting rid of the car, but would insurance write it off, my ex is £550, car is probably worht only £1000-£2000

should i get all the damage fixed and sell, all the corners are scratched and both rear light clusters cracked and open, not the bonnet is damaged.

Insurers suggested i get it fixed myself....

Any thoughts welcome

Thanks

Why won't your house structure insurance pay for the repairt?

Not covered. Buildings insurance covers damage to your buildings not to your car.

If it includes public liability insurance as well then it could well cover damage to a third party vehicle, but not to one you own.
