Apcoa - Incorrect car parking fine - drdes

I have an annual car parking permit for my cars at our local train station (from April 12 to April 13. A week ago I got a "Parking Contravention Charge Notice" stating "No Valid payment". with the usual threats of £75 fine or £50 if within 14 days, othewise they will contact DVLA blah blah blah.

They dont let you challenge by phone or email -so I had to write a letter. On teh letter I told them they had made a mistake and thyey should check their facts. I also said thyat if I didnt hear back from them within 15 days with confirmation that the charge has been cancelled, any further correwpondence from me would incur a postage and handling costs of £5 per letter and cost of my time at £70 per hour. I would also hold them liable for ny legal costs I incur in getting those funds from them.

I posted that letter about 12 dats ago - no response yet.

Today - I go to my car and ANOTHER parking contravention notice. Same reson - however this one hasn't even been signed by the parking idiot (sorry attendant)

I really want to sue these idiots for wasting my time. Any advice on how I do this and whether its worth doing?. I don't understand how they can try to charge me £75 with impunity even though they are completely in the wrong but I still have to waste time and money on responding to this with no comeback to them?

Any tips? I am happy to get lawyers involved if there is any chance of success.

Have a look at www.pepipoo.com/. Lots of info there & perhaps post your message on their forum.

What about if you just ignor their letters & wait for them to take you to court. Then just produce your valid permit to the court & watch their red faces, don't know if they would award you costs.

Reminds me of few years back when my MiL was accused of not paying an electricity account - we had the stamped receipt of full payment within 2 days of receiving the bill.

Reminder threatened forcing access to premises to cut off supply etc..............SWMBO did not want me to stand behind door with the receipted bill!

Turns out Scottish Power had been paid by the Royal Bank but they has not posted the money - it was in a suspense account along with hundreds of others.

£30 bouquet sent by SP as they had followed up their reminder with Telephone Calls threatening hell and damnation on the 85 year old!
