Given DVLA's appalling history of inaccuracy, this is going to cause some innocent people considerable grief - no doubt with cars being seized and stored while it's being sorted out.
Having worked in IT since the mid-60s, or DP as it was called then, the problem with GIGO has got worse - it's caused by human error, not machine error, but sadly people trust computerised results more now implicitly and seem blind to the possibility of human error.
