ageing space wagon - motormoo
My Mitsubishi Space wagon (2.0L Auto)is now 7 1/2 years old and well used. At 106,000 on the clock I have been thinking about changing it (for a Mazda 6 estate or another Space Wagon) but I read in the Honest John review of the older Space wagons that they were good for 300,000. Its been regularly serviced by a Mitsubishi garage.....any thoughts on the longer term reliability of this car.I cant afford to have a car that breaks down as it has to do long journeys abroad with its less than fit driver! Keep it or Can it???

Mother in Law's just traded hers (120,000 on an 'N' plate) unfortunately after having the engine rebuilt following a belt failure. And, yes, she'd had it regularly (and main agent) serviced. If you want to keep it, change the timing belt more frequently than Mitsubishi say you should.... have a look at this thread...

Very interesting, thankyou. Of course the garage is all for me buying a new car...as long as its another Mitsubishi!
